Beijing Pinggu Zhongguancun Agricultural Science and Technology Park Innovation Workshop covers a total area of 36 acres, with a building area of 16,000 square meters. The main construction includes an office building of 1,501 square meters, a research building of 11,467 square meters, employee dormitories, a cafeteria, and other supporting service facilities totaling 3,000 square meters. Currently, 16 institutions have settled in, including the Jingwa Center, Daweijia Swine Breeding Laboratory, Beijing Biological Seed Industry Innovation Consortium, National Academy of Agriculture Green Development’s Microbial Platform of China Agricultural University, Xmeats, etc.
In 2018, the Beijing Agriculture and Rural Bureau led the establishment of the Jingwa Center, jointly initiated by the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Pinggu District Government, China Agricultural University, Beijing Capital Agribusiness & Foods Group and other units. In February 2019, following the principle of "avoiding large-scale demolition and construction", the original industrial plant was renovated and expanded. It was completed, accepted, and put into use by the end of May 2021. It was registered and completed on July 26, 2021, and officially incorporated into the park for work.
“Seed Industry Technology Exhibition Hall of Beijing Capital Agribusiness & Foods Group” is led by the group company, with support and operation provided by the Beijing Biological Seed Industry Innovation Consortium. The exhibition hall covers an area of 280 square meters and stands as an important showcase of the achievements in building Beijing as the "Seed Industry Hub". The exhibition hall comprehensively showcases the profound accumulation and significant achievements of Beijing Capital Agribusiness & Foods Group in core areas such as technological innovation and platform construction in the biological seed industry over the years. In response to President Xi's call, the exhibition hall also highlights the significant initiative of establishing the “Beijing Biological Seed Industry Innovation Consortium” in collaboration with the People's Government of Pinggu District, China Agricultural University, Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences, CITIC Agriculture, and Longping High-Tech.
The exhibition hall covers six major sectors including livestock and poultry breeding, crop breeding, and microbial breeding. Advanced technologies such as immersive projection, holographic imaging, and multimedia touch are applied to create a new and upgraded perspective. With modern information technology as the starting point, the exhibition hall integrates artistic creativity to comprehensively showcase the key achievements of the group in the construction of the "Seed Industry Hub" and the advantages of the national strategic scientific and technological strength platform.
The visited demonstration park covers an area of 132 acres, with the peach plantation occupying 30 acres, the European pear plantation covering 26 acres, and the apple plantation spanning 58 acres. The project’s aim is to enhance China's fruit industry research capabilities and address the bottleneck problem faced by modern orchards. The demonstration park utilizes modern techniques to establish comprehensive technical management processes, including land preparation, trellising, drip irrigation, agricultural machinery, plant protection, and harvesting. Leveraging both research and industrial resources, the park aims to create a new technology and product incubation center in the fruit industry of Beijing. It is equipped for tasks such as variety breeding, technical training, and outcome transformation, serving as a specialized demonstration area that integrates fruit industry scientific research, technical demonstrations, training and exchange, as well as public education.
The demonstration park covers a total area of approximately 72 acres, featuring the construction of Dutch semi-closed intelligent connected greenhouses equipped with state-of-the-art Dutch facilities and technologies. It includes large-span single greenhouses and flexible sunlight greenhouses, as well as facilities such as artificial climate chambers, which represent the future direction of Chinese domestic development. The park comprehensively employs advanced agricultural technologies, including new energy sources, the Internet of Things (IoT), modern soilless cultivation techniques, and integrated automatic irrigation systems for water and fertilizer. It has become a comprehensive agricultural demonstration park that combines agricultural scientific research, agricultural technology experimental demonstrations, observation and training, and agricultural science popularization education
